Staying safe at
CogX Festival

It might look a little different this year, but it’s still the vibrant Festival you know and love for its inspiring talks, dazzling ideas and buzzing community.

Here’s how we’re keeping our attendees, speakers and staff safe at CogX Festival 2021.

Keeping you safe

Limited attendees on-site

We’re working closely with our venues to make sure each space stays within the recommended capacity of in-person attendees.

Social distancing

Chairs will have plenty of room between them and common areas will be carefully prepared for safe, socially-distanced networking.

Health & safety

From daily test results to medical facilities dotted across the venue, we’re taking every step to make sure you can safely enjoy the Festival.

At the festival

When you arrive

Health screening

Each day before you enter, we’ll take your temperature and make sure you’re feeling fit and ready for the exciting three days ahead.

Test kits

We recommend that everyone take a rapid COVID test before arriving on-site. So don’t forget to order your free NHS test kit ahead of the event. Simply take the test within 48 hours of each day you spend at the Festival and upload your results to the NHS app.

Contactless registration

We’re going touch-free to involve fewer hands in the registration process. We’ll send you an email a week before the big day with instructions on how to get your digital Festival pass.

If you’re travelling from abroad, make sure you’re following UK travel guidelines on quarantining and testing when you arrive.

During the festival

Face masks

Everyone at the Festival needs to wear a face mask to help keep each other safe — even if they’ve had the vaccine.

Social distancing

Everyone loves extra space. We’re limiting the number of in-person attendees and will make sure everyone has plenty of room between them and the next person at all times.

Upgraded hygiene

Deep cleaning, medical facilities, extra handwashing stations and hand sanitiser at every turn — you name it, we’ll have it all throughout the Festival.

After the festival

Time for another test

Even if you’ve taken every precaution and gone through two bottles of hand sanitiser, it’s a good idea to take another test 48 hours after the Festival. Just in case.

Track & Trace

If you want to be extra cautious, install the NHS Track and Trace app to be alerted if you need to isolate at any point during or after the Festival.

Popular questions

Don’t panic. If you start to feel fatigued, feverish and suddenly can’t taste or smell our great coffee, head over to one of many first aid points within the venue. If you’re not on-site yet, stay home, rest and contact us. We’ll sort out the rest of your Festival experience.

Most likely. We’re closely following the UK Government’s COVID-19 Guidelines and will be updating this page with any changes as we get closer to the big day. So keep a keen eye on this page!

Good question. You can order your free Covid self-test kit from Gov.UK. You'll get a letter-sized box containing seven tests and a helpful leaflet with step-by-step instructions. If you can't order the tests online, check this page for more options.

Remember: You'll need to self-test within 48hrs of each day you spend at the Festival (i.e. if you’re coming on Tuesday you'd test on Sunday).

Hopefully not, but if you do test positive, get in touch and we’ll take care of your Festival pass. You can either ask for a full refund or get two in-person passes to CogX Festival 2022. We’ll also give you a free Premium Virtual Pass so you can still join the fun from home.

If restrictions bar us from gathering in June, we’ll move the entire Festival onto our virtual platform. If you have an in-person pass, you can choose between a full refund or two in-person passes to CogX Festival 2022. Either way, we’ll give you a free Premium Virtual Pass so you can join from your sofa.

The great thing about these rapid tests is they give you results in just 30 minutes. Once you have your result, all you have to do is upload it to the NHS app. Or, you can report your result on their website.
