Using AI explainability statements to help build trustworthy and legal AI
The AI narrative is dominated by mistrust of the AI ‘black box.’ It leaves us with questions like: is AI fair? Is it safe? How does it work? And where does the data come from? Regulators, led by the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office and the European Commission, increasingly expect companies to justify their use of AI. But it’s challenging to explain such a sophisticated and complex technology in an accessible way. This roundtable will examine how companies are ‘explaining’ their use of AI and looks at practical examples of explainability statements.
