The surprising and dangerous weaknesses of AI tools for detecting online hate.Can we use AI to track down online hate? Can tech companies use AI to fight hate on their platforms? It’s not easy! New and groundbreaking research has identified important weaknesses in current AI tools for detecting hate. This session will demonstrate how these tools struggle with even basic tasks, are easily tricked and often biased. This raises questions about whether we can trust AI to keep us safe online.
