Andrea Baronchelli is an associate professor at the Department of Mathematics of City University of London and Economic Data Science theme lead at The Alan Turing Institute, where he founded and runs the Token Economy group. Andrea has authored some of the first academic papers analysing the cryptocurrency ecosystem and continues investigating several aspects of it. Other research interests include the dynamics of large networks, social norms and behaviour change. His work has appeared in journals including Science, PNAS and Nature Human Behaviour, and has been recognized by the 2019 “Young Scientist Award for Socio and Econophysics” of the German Physical Society.
