Dr Jane Harris is Professor of Digital Design and Innovation, and Director of Research and Innovation (Stratford), University of the Arts London (UAL). Her role includes leadership of research and development initiatives aligned to the new UAL campus (2023), on the Queen Elizabeth Park, as part of a development called East Bank, with partners including UCL, Loughborough University, QMUL, V&A, Sadler’s Wells, Studio Wayne McGregor.
Director of the Business of Fashion, Textiles and Technology Creative R&D Partnership award (£5.5m), as part of an £80million Creative Industries Cluster Programme funded by the UK Industrial Strategy, Jane is also leading an Arts Humanities Research Council Covid-19 award, DREEm. An Advisor to the EU for ICT and EPSRC, Jane is a member of the AHRC Peer Review College, and the V&A Research Institute (VARI) advisory board. With a background in textile design, and more recently working across XR and creative computing disciplines, Jane has also received awards from the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA), Channel4, Arts Foundation and Arts Council England.
