EPCC at Edinburgh University
Mark Parsons is the Director of EPCC, the supercomputing centre at the University of Edinburgh. EPCC operates many of the UK’s national supercomputers for the country’s academic and industrial research communities. He is a Mark is also the Director of Research Computing for the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council and the Chair of the Exascale Project Working Group which has been developing the case for and Exascale supercomputer for the UK. He has a wide range of interests in HPC and is well known for his support for, and championing of, the use of HPC by SMEs. He also leads the operation of the National Safe Haven in Scotland for NHS Scotland and the Scottish Government.
