Global Lead for Responsible AI
Ray Eitel-Porter is a Managing Director with Accenture Digital, leading the UK Applied Intelligence Practice. Since joining Accenture in 2013 he has led work to define the global information and analytics strategy and operating model for a major CPG company and driven quality and supply chain analytics for a global manufacturer. Other projects include: helping financial services and telecoms companies with their strategy for Artificial Intelligence; helping to develop Accenture’s thought-leadership for Responsible AI and advising clients in this area; and designing and testing a data monetization proposition for a cross-industry service provider. Ray led the formation of an Alliance between Accenture and The Alan Turing Institute, the UK’s national institute for data science and artificial intelligence, to further research and innovation applied to real-world business challenges. He chairs the government’s Data Skills Taskforce and led the creation of a national data science prize for schools, in association with TeenTech, to excite interest at an early age in the possibilities that a training/career in data science can offer. He is a regular speaker and social media commentator on the subjects of Artificial Intelligence, data science, big data, and digital transformation.
Before joining Accenture, Ray was an Executive Director and Lead for the European practice of Opera Solutions, a global Big Data predictive analytics organization focused on the areas of sales and marketing, credit and risk, and supply chain. For several years he led the design and implementation of a ground-breaking analytics “Signal Hub” for a major global airline.
Prior to that, Ray was president of Dimexon Eurostar, a global diamond jewelry manufacturer. He established and built global sales and distribution, design and product development and oversaw all commercial functions.
Ray holds an MA in Modern Languages from Christ Church, Oxford as well as an MBA from INSEAD. He speaks analytics fluently, as well as English, German and French. Ray enjoys squash and skiing and lives in London with his wife and their two daughters.
