Tom started exploring ultrasound technology during his final year of his Master’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Bristol, UK. He further developed the initial concept to form the basis of his PhD studies, during which he published numerous papers and filed various patents. Recognizing the technology’s commercial viability, Tom founded Ultrahaptics in November 2013 and launched the world’s first and only mid-air haptics solution.
Since then, as CTO, Tom has gone on to launch commercial products and lead technology innovation at the company. Tom was also instrumental in the acquisition of Leap Motion in May 2019 which resulted in the company becoming Ultraleap. Tom continues to lead on all technology developments at Ultraleap.
